What is the best brand of organic cosmetics?
It’s difficult for us to claim to be the best organic cosmetics brand… Let’s just say that we always try to do our best! What if you judge for yourself instead?
Avril products are certified organic
At Avril, organic is part of our DNA! This is one of our main missions, to offer organic beauty and cosmetic products, accessible to as many people as possible. Thus, all our skincare and makeup products are certified by one of these labels (except nail polish):
● the Organic Cosmetics Label certified by Ecocert (a certification which guarantees, among other things, that our beauty products contain at least 95% ingredients of natural origin)
● the Organic Cosmetics & Organic Cosmos Labels certified by Qualité France whose specifications are similar to those of Ecocert
● the Cosmos Label certified by Ecocert (for all new products after 2017)
A French brand
Avril est une marque de cosmétiques biologiques engagée… qui vient tout droit du Nord de la France ! C’est Alexis Dhellemmes qui a eu l’idée de créer des cosmétiques bio accessibles au plus grand nombre, et son idée s’est concrétisée en 2012. Avril s’est d’abord lancée en ligne puis la première boutique a été créée, à Lille bien évidemment.
Au-delà de ses origines, il faut dire aussi que la majeure partie des produits Avril sont fabriqués et conditionnés en France.
And our raw materials?
Toutes nos matières premières ne sont pas forcément françaises. Nous sélectionnons prioritairement des matières premières françaises et locales et quand cela n’est pas possible nous assurons une sélection rigoureuse de nos fournisseurs que ce soit, au-delà des ingrédients, sur un critère éthique, environnemental et durable. Et bien sûr dans le respect du référentiel COSMOS.
Certains ingrédients ne sont pas produits en France. On fait référence notamment à l’huile d’argan qui nous vient du Maroc ou encore l’huile de ravintsara qui vient de Madagascar...
Membership in PETA
Conformément à la législation européenne, nos produits ne sont pas testés sur les animaux. Avril adhère à l’association Peta car nous partageons les mêmes valeurs.
Vegan?
Avril is not a vegan brand, however, more than 70% of our products are (i.e. free from ingredients of animal origin).
To be honest, being a vegan brand is not the first goal. If we can release a quality vegan product, it’s always better! But, if by removing the beeswax for example, the product in question loses quality (ease of use, effectiveness), we will choose to keep it.
Avril is also and above all a committed brand!
To end on (another) nice note, Avril is a committed organic cosmetics brand that is built consciously: we try as much as possible, and whenever possible, to reduce our impact on the environment.
Our beauty treatments and products are delivered without unnecessary packaging and our packaging boxes are reused! We are also involved in several programs for the planet: the 1% for the planet collective, a reforestation program, with 43,412 trees replanted to date…
