Out of the box


Our organization is based on trust and responsibility. Each of our 250 colleagues is free to make decisions in his or her own area of expertise, within a defined, shared framework. Because it seems more relevant (the expert is in the best position to make the right decision), more efficient (no need for numerous validations) and more fulfilling (everyone contributes to the collective success).

This freedom to initiate and act is virtuous: it opens the way to creativity and helps the company's practices to progress.

For example, a warehouse employee has set up a shredder: cartons too damaged to be reused are transformed into small pieces, to wedge the products in our parcels. As well as being economical, this reduces the waste associated with our activity!

In our stores, the teams play an active role in recruiting their future manager or colleague: logical, since they will be the first to work with her or him.

At Avril, no one has an individual target or commission on sales.

Learning to understand each other is the beginning of everything. From their very first days at Avril, every new colleague follows an integration program focused on listening to and understanding themselves and others:
 - Non-Violent Communication, to express things clearly and respectfully
 - NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), to better understand each person's needs and reactions
 - Active listening, to be truly present to what the other person is saying

 

These tools nurture a culture of dialogue in which emotion has its rightful place. Being able to say what you feel, welcoming what the other is going through: that's what working together is all about.
