Demanding organic standards
Choosing organic means choosing the living.
Our ingredients are organically grown without chemical pesticides, respecting the soil, the seasons and biodiversity. And what's best for nature is also best for our health and our skin. This is what drives us to offer certified organic products, convinced that we all stand to gain!
Each product is developed according to strict specifications to guarantee a healthy composition. Then, we have them checked and certified by an independent body, so you can choose your products with peace of mind.
We'll help you understand these certifications:
- Cosmos Organic, for products containing a minimum of 95% ingredients of natural origin and 95% organic plant ingredients. These are the products for which we can indicate that they are certified organic.
- Cosmos Natural, for products containing a minimum of 95% ingredients of natural origin. For these products, we don't call them organic, but natural. This is particularly the case for our reconstitutable lozenges (shower gel, hand washing gel or micellar water), simply because they have to be diluted with water, which is not an organic ingredient.
We recently created a blacklist of ingredients that we want to avoid as much as possible in our new formulas. The aim is to go beyond organic certification by avoiding certain controversial ingredients, as a precautionary measure.
What about quality? Our formulas meet strict, demanding specifications. Each product is tested for stability, tolerance and efficacy to ensure that it truly delivers on its promises. But it's the reviews you leave us and your loyalty that are the best proof!
In short, no petrochemicals, phenoxyethanol or synthetic colorants: just good, organic products with at least the same level of effectiveness!
Made as close as possible
Reducing our environmental impact, guaranteeing a high level of quality, boosting the local economy: we have plenty of good reasons to prefer local manufacturing!
And if everything isn't perfect yet, we're on the right track:
- 100% of our skincare products are made in France
- our make-up is produced in France and Italy. We're gradually bringing production back to France. The closer, the better!
- 90% of our accessories come from France or Europe. Some products still come from Asia, when the raw material grows naturally there (this is the case for our konjac sponge, which comes from an Asian plant) or when we have no choice (we haven't yet found an eyelash curler manufacturer in Europe, but we're keeping an eye out!).
We're taking it one step at a time
A few years ago, our brushes were still made in China. We chose to repatriate their production to France, even though this multiplied their cost by three.
A conscious choice: sell less, but remain aligned with our values.
Every day a little better
What keeps us busy? Quite simply, to offer new organic cosmetics with the highest standards of quality!
And that's not always easy... We're still learning, we're making mistakes, we're rectifying, we're testing... but we're moving forward!
A few years ago, we developed bulk refills of liquid shower gels in our boutique. We were proud to offer refills to our customers, who had been waiting for this solution. Unfortunately, the constraints associated with bulk distribution were too great, so we decided to discontinue this format... only to relaunch the refill concept, this time in the form of a powder to be diluted in water at home to reconstitute shower gel. But also shampoo, toothpaste, micellar water and face wash!
